Special Method Acting Workshop: „The Actor´s Freedom to be Creative“
Dear Actors and Friends,
Geraldine Baron is coming to Berlin in November to give a Master Class for the Filmacademy. She is generously extending her stay to give more actors the chance to deepen their work process, guided by a coach who has been the teacher of many coaches.
We are able to offer you the rare possibility to work with a Method coach who has developed her own deeply inspiring way of teaching in the Actors Studio tradition, with emphasis on bringing the artistic potential of actors to light.
Geraldine Baron has studied with Lee Strasberg for 14 years and was encouraged by him to continue his work as a teacher. According to her deep commitment to study the actor´s process, she has also studied with other legendary teachers of the time, like Stella Adler, Harold Clurman, Elia Kazan and Sanford Meisner. Her way of coaching though is most deeply impressed and informed by the many years of research with Lee Strasberg, adding her own body of work in more than 30 years of teaching actors internationally.
She is Lifetime Member of the Actors Studio, currently living in NY. As a coach she has worked with many outstanding actors from Harvey Keitel to Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi, as well as with many acclaimed directors. She was casting director for Coppola and taught at a variety of acting schools, universities and the Actors Studios in NY and LA. She has lived in Rome and has developped a long working relationship with Italian and German actors and directors. Her annual Actors´ Retreat in Asolo has supported the artistic growth of dedicated actors for more than 15 years.
Geraldine will be there to deal with individual actor problems and how to solve them. She can diagnose the difficulty with specific work and give directions to remedy your inner or technical obstacles.

The actors can bring in scenes and painting exercises. If you don´t know what that is about, you will get a specific description that enables you to prepare. This ex needs to be prepared ahead, since you have overall artistic responsability as writer, caster, designer, actor and director. Anyway, the better prepared you are and the more ready to confront your artistic issues as an actor, the more Geraldine can support your growth towards brilliance.
Working hours will be from Monday Nov. 24 thu Saturday evening Nov. 29. The hours are from 10 am to 3pm, Mon thru Friday and 10am to 10pm all day Saturday the 29th.

Work will be in English, scenes can be in any language. Geraldine is very experienced in working with European actors. Rough English translation/text of scene should be available though.
Actors must have professional working experience. They should know what they want to work on, in terms of their instrument, and what scene/character challenge they like to explore.
The special price is 350 € for the whole time. If you can´t do the whole time, Monday through Friday would be 250 €. For actors who have previously worked with Geraldine it´s possible to do Saturday only, for 100 €.
